DescriptionThe hamlet of White Coppice is situated in Lancashire at the foot of the West Pennine Moors. This is the backdrop to the cricket field with it's heather clad slopes, lush trees, grazing sheep and white-washed cottages around the boundary edge.The ground attracts many visitors from the north west of England and has been featured many times in the Lancashire Life magazine and tourist publications. The pavillion has recently been refurbished and showers and toilets are now provided in each changing room. Cricketers teas are prepared and refreshments provided to spectators and passing walkers.
DirectionsFrom M61 at junction 8 sign posted Botany Bay, and take the A674 towards Wheelton. Go straight across mini roundabout and follow the road past the Red Cat pub on your left. After 100 metres, turn right into Chapel Lane (sign posted White Coppice) Continue past the Church on the right hand side and the equestrian centre on the left. The road bends sharply to the right, 75 metres after this bend (by the ex pub The Railway) Turn left into Coppice Lane, passing houses on the left, until you go over a stone bridge and onto the dirt track road, continue down the road, alongside the water, the cricket ground is directly in front of you.
